Time To Let Go
Crimes of the heart can cause us great injury. Hurt feelings, harsh words and sordid treatments leave deep imprints in our minds and hearts. We dwell on the cruel and unkind violations against us. Letting go of the painful past is difficult and sometimes the pains can be overwhelming. We get stuck and hold on to our anger while the wounds grow deeper and fester. The pain keeps us from finding peace within ourselves. We embrace ourselves in constant emotional distress. When is it time to let go then?
It is time to let go when holding on to the anger no longer serves us. When carrying the burden of our anger keeps us from moving in the direction of our goals. When the anger keeps us from growing and becoming the person we seek to be. When the pressure of anger causes us to spiral into depression. How then do we begin?
JUST LET GO. We begin by letting go. We begin by not allowing ourselves to dwell on the negative. We begin by not torturing ourselves reliving the injustice. We begin by not punishing ourselves for somebody else unkindness. We should instead focus on recovering from the injury. We can recover by surrounding ourselves with loved ones whom we trust. We can recover simply by moving on. Forgiveness can come much later.
Finding peace within ourselves doesn't mean we forget about the crimes. Rather, it means we choose to release them. We choose to live in a place where harmony resides. We choose to lead a life where past grievances no longer affect us. We choose to unload our baggage of anger and to laugh at our own silliness.
Is it time for you to let go yet?
